Tourism in the Barbados Islands
One of the most upscale vacation spots in the Caribbean is Barbados. Only four destinations were served by Concorde on a daily basis: New York, London, Paris, and Barbados. One of the biggest restaurant scenes in the area may be found there.
Despite the rise in the room fee and exit tax, Barbados long-stay tourist arrivals are surpassing records for the fourth year in a row.
Barbados' elite and upscale reputation has propelled it higher independently of market trends. 2018 saw a 2.3% decline in Caribbean visitor numbers, but an increase of 2.5% in Barbados. When US tourists to Cuba increased, so did their visits to Barbados.
In 2018, visitors spent $1.12 billion, a 7% increase from 2017.
Occupancy throughout the previous 12 months is at 68%.
Annually, more than 2.4 million passengers travel to and from Barbados.
KEY TOURISM STATISTICS FOR 2018
More than 680,000 people visited Barbados in 2018, which marked three years in a row of increase for the island nation's tourism industry. In addition to being a well-known tourist destination on a global scale, the Caribbean business community favors the island. Unlike our nearby neighbors, who are heavily dependent on the US market, Barbados offers a fantastic mix of tourists from all over the world.
