Tourism to the pyramids of Egypt

One of the most well-known landmarks in the world is the Pyramids of Giza, which are joined by the Sphinx and a few other smaller monuments. These pyramids are probably at the top of your list if you plan to travel to Egypt.

Find all the information you need about how to see the Giza Pyramids in this guide. We visited the Giza Plateau twice in order to provide you with the knowledge you need to make travel arrangements.

FACTS ABOUT THE EGYPTIAN PYRAMIDS THAT ARE INTERESTING

At the start of historically documented human history, the Pyramids of Giza were constructed.

The oldest of the three major pyramids on the Giza plateau is the Great Pyramid of Giza, commonly referred to as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops. The earliest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this pyramid dates to roughly 2570 BC. It is the only Ancient Wonder that has largely survived.

Before the Lincoln Cathedral was erected in England in 1311 AD, the Great Pyramid held the record for the world's highest structure for 3,800 years.

Usually, when someone uses the term "Pyramids of Giza," they are referring to the three major pyramids that make up the Giza complex. The Great Pyramid and its two neighbors, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure, are included in the group of three pyramids.

The pyramids were constructed as Egyptian pharaohs' tombs. The "King's Chamber," which is located inside the pyramid, is where the sarcophagus is.

The Giza Plateau, also known as the Giza Necropolis or the Giza pyramid complex, is where the Pyramids of Giza are situated. On this plateau are nine pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and a number of smaller tombs.

The vast metropolis of Giza is directly adjacent to the Giza Plateau. There are many hotels where you may get a room with a view of the Great Pyramid or the Sphinx if you enjoy the notion of getting a hotel room with a special view.

BEST ACTIVITIES AT THE GIZA PYRAMIDS

View the Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure pyramids.

• Visit one of the pyramids inside

• Travel to Panorama Point.

• Snap a photo with the Sphinx.

• Travel to Valley Temple

• Attend the light and sound show

KHUFU, KHAFRE, AND MENKAURE'S PYRAMIDS

The three enormous pyramids that dominate the Giza Plateau are without a doubt the best item to see while there.

Get up near to the Great Pyramid to really comprehend their size. The blocks of limestone are enormous. Just consider the amount of labor required to construct something similar. Even more astounding is the idea that these pyramids were constructed over 5,000 years ago.

ENTER ONE OF THE PYRAMIDS.

You can enter the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure for an extra charge.

GLORIOUS POINT

One of the excellent vantage locations for the Giza pyramids is from here. Six of the nine pyramids on the Giza Plateau are visible from this location.

GO CAMEL RIDING

There have been allegations of animal mistreatment at the pyramids, including abuse of horses in addition to camels. In certain instances, the animals are abused, overworked, and given no opportunity to rest during the day.

We were not present for any of this. The camels we saw appeared healthy and had clearly had a nice night's sleep. But you never know what happens behind the scenes, and things can be different when you come (the animals might be cared for by a different person, it might be busier during the day, etc.).

TRAVEL TO VALLEY TEMPLE

The Valley Temple is right adjacent to the Sphinx. King Khafre's mummification took place in this shrine.

PUBLICLY STREAM THE SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW

The Sphinx and the Pyramids are coloredly illuminated every night. The Sphinx tells the story of the pyramids for one hour.

Reviews of the Sound and Light Show are contradictory. Nearly everyone agrees that it is out of date (it began in the 1960s and hasn't altered much since then), even though some people adore it and others find it boring.

The best way to enter the Great Pyramid

You can enter one of the three main pyramids—the Great Pyramid, Khafre, or Menkaure—for an extra price on top of the cost of visiting the Giza pyramid complex.

THE MAJOR PIRAMID

When compared to the Pyramids of Khafre or Menkaure, the Great Pyramid has a significantly higher entrance cost (440 EGP as opposed to 100 EGP), but how often do you get the chance to visit an Ancient Wonder of the World?

A hole on the Great Pyramid's north face will serve as your entrance. You must up a ramp via the Grand Gallery to reach the King's Chamber, which is accessible only by foot. The empty stone sarcophagus is located in this heated, dim room.

KHAFRE AND MENKAURE PYRAMIDS

These two pyramids are less expensive, less crowded, and smaller than the Great Pyramid. There isn't much to see within these two pyramids, much like the Great Pyramid, but if you enjoy the concept of less tourists, you might go.
